Project budget template for Jira teams
The question a sponsor asks is never “how much did we spend?” but “where will we land?”. This project budget template tracks the budget, the cost so far and a forecast of the final cost, from the time your team already logs in Jira.

How to use it in Confluence
- Click Copy the template, open a new Confluence page and paste: headings, lists and tables stay as they are.
- Replace the parts in [brackets] and delete what does not apply to you.
- To reuse it, save it as a space template: Space settings › Templates › Create template, then paste.
Keep the forecast honest
- Use real rates with dates. When a rate changes, the old hours keep the old rate.
- Re-estimate the remaining work. The forecast is only as good as the remaining estimate: ask the team, do not subtract hours from the original plan.
- Look at the trend. A forecast that grows a little every week tells you more than any single number.
